The Upper House of Cameroon’s Parliament has reinstated 88-year-old Marcel Niat Njifenji as Senate President.
Niat has occupied the same position since the country’s senate was created in 2013.
Niat secured 79 votes out of 82 votes. Three senators abstained from the process.
Similarly, Cameroon President Paul Biya is 90 years old and has been in power for 40 years.
