The Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkorah has resigned from his position the Presidency has confirmed.
The Deputy Minister, breached the COVID-19 protocols, when, as a person certified to be positive for the virus visited a registration centre in his constituency before the period of self-isolation was complete.
The legislator confirmed this yesterday to several radio interviews granted him. His reason was that he is asymptomatic.
His action has been condemned by majority of Ghanaians describing his move to visit Registration centres despite him being Covid-19 patient as irresponsible and undermining the fight against the deadly virus.
Accepting the resignation, “the President recognizes that Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah has acted honorably in the circumstances by resigning his office, and wishes him well”, part of the statement read.
