An international Catholic fraternal service organization, the Knights of St. John International (KSJI) and their Ladies Auxiliary have donated Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 30,000.00) to the COVID-19 Fund of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC).
The money is expected to be used to purchase Personal Protective Equipments to Health workers in the 129 Catholic Health Facilities across the country to join fight to curb the spread of the deadly disease.
The donation was made at the National Catholic Secretariat by the Supreme Subordinate President of Ghana, Major-General Peter Sangber-Dery and was assisted by the Respected Supreme Subordinate President of the Ladies, Noble Sister Eugenia Enyimayew.
Maj-Gen. Sangber-Dery said the donation is their widow’s mite and commanded Health workers for their dedicated service in this pandemic era.
Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, who received the donation on behalf of the Conference, thanked the Members of the KJSI on behalf of the President and the entire membership of the GCBC for responding generously to their appeal.
