Ghana international Mohammed Salisu wants his outfit to improve defensively following draw against Pafos FC in the UEFA Champions League.
Salisu played full throttle of the match as Monaco settled for a 2-2 away draw against Pafos on Wednesday.
Despite scoring an own-goal, the former Southampton star emerged as the Man-of-the-Match prize in the high-stake clash, at the Alphamega stadium.
“This is a big lesson for us. We need to defend better in such games at difficult venues especially at set-pieces. We knew Pafos were always going to be threat. We also needed to ensure we took our opportunities at the other end. We’re still in the competition, but we must go to Galatasaray in the next Champions League game and get the three points.” He said after the match.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian defender has made four appearances in the Champions League this season after five matches. In all competitions, Salisu has made 12 appearances for the French giants, scoring one goal across the period.
