A renowned contractor and a politician, Hon. Evans Appiah has emphasized that, a change of government doesn’t necessarily mean a change in ongoing projects on contract.
According to him, “I had a call after the NDC’s victory jogging on Sunday that the members of NDC are looting materials meant for the construction at SDA college of education so I quickly called Hon. Adongo but he couldn’t pick. So I went to the school and met them there, but they made it clear to me that they are not the ones looting but rather is the contractor”.
On Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney, the Ne Juaben south independent PC revealed “the building in question is an ultra modern hostel with everything is on point and so if the government changes or not, it has to be built”.
Hon. Evans Appiah stressed that, he doesn’t see why thhe contractor, Madam Akua should go for the construction materials because it’s clear that she has already taken money for the project and commended the NDC New Juaben north PC, Hon. Adongo, for coming appearing at the venue early to avert the decision of the contractor.
“The hostel is an ultra modern hostel, and because there is now a change of government and the contract was a verbal one. She knows the kind of deal she went in an agreement with them because we are in Ghana, that we can give you a contract without any document and still get your pay, but as a contractor if the government terminates the contract or you decide not to do it again, you don’t have the right to go and pick the materials because it belongs to the state”, he explained.
He has said that , “madam should just give thanks to God that it’s Hon. Adongo that was leading the peace makers because if it were to be other people she wouldn’t have taken it calm because what she did yesterday is totally stealing, because there is a change in government so she will also go for the things.
