Fifteen out of twenty-three New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament in the Eastern Region have declared their unflinching support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, warning that replacing him as the party’s leader could set the NPP back by 16 years.
Addressing the media on behalf of his colleagues , the Member of Parliament for Achiase, Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, said the decision followed a careful assessment of Dr. Bawumia’s track record and leadership qualities.
According to the MPs, Dr. Bawumia, who they describe as Ghana’s most impactful Vice-President, has been well marketed and remains the party’s strongest option both politically and policy-wise.
“Having been well marketed and having served as Ghana’s most impactful vice-president, he is the best option politically and policy-wise to win this election”.

Changing him now will only set us back another 16 years,” Mr. Marfo stressed.
