There is Chaos at Awutu Papaase near Odupong Ofankor as armed men suspected to be land guards have invaded a Chief Palace to brutalize the chiefs.
Bryt News Central Regional Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah reports that the Chiefs were adjudicating on matters relating to land issues in the area when the land guards invaded the palace to beat up the people.
He said the victims fled helter-skelter for their lives while others severely beat. A police personnel was being deployed to the scene at the time of filing the report.
The area is notorious for land guard menace.
Today’s incident is happening at the back of a similar incident which has led to the reported death of a sub-chief of Awutu Traditional Council.
The Chief reportedly shot dead while three other persons in critical condition after a group of land guards numbering 10 launched a deadly gun attack against them over disputed land at Awutu Kwao Bondze near Kasoa in the Central Region.
The incident occurred on Wednesday 23, 2020.
The deceased sub-chief Asafohene to Awutu Mponuahene went on to the disputed land to pay laborers who were constructing a wall around the disputed parcel of land when the land guards who had laid ambush opened fire on him.
Speaking to Bryt FM News Central Regional Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, Yaw Buabeng One of the laborers who survived the gun attack said, the land guards opened fire shortly after the Asafohene arrived at the site to pay them leading to his death but they managed to escape.
He said many sustained gunshot wounds.
An Estate developer called Kofai has been accused of masterminding the attack.
The Mponuahene of Awutu Traditional Council, Nai Kwabena Atopi (i) appeal to the Inspector General of Police James Oppong-Buanuh to deploy armed Police to the area to arrest the suspects for Prosecution to avert reprisal attack.
