Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mampong have caused chaos at their party office, smashing chairs and motorcycles in protest against the alleged nomination of Esther Dwomoh as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). The incident highlights the intense political tensions and divisions within the party.
Kwaku Banasco, the NDC’s communication officer in Asante Mampong in a phone interview condemned the act of vandalization.
Banasco disclosed that the alleged woman who is said to be nominated knows nothing about Asante Mampong.
He further explained that when the list comes and Esther is not the one who has been chosen as the MCE, those who vandalized the party office will be brought to book and dealt with accordingly.
The party members’ frustration and anger are palpable, and the incident has raised concerns about the party’s internal dynamics and its ability to manage dissent and disagreement. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the party leadership will address the concerns of its members and resolve the crisis.
One thing is certain, however: the NDC in Mampong is facing a major challenge in managing its internal conflicts and maintaining party unity.
