Abuakwa North, Ghana – Assembly Members and Government Appointees of the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly have overwhelmingly confirmed Hon. Charles Darko Yeboah as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), with the nominee securing 100% of the total votes cast.
The confirmation took place on Wednesday, following Hon. Yeboah’s nomination by President John Dramani Mahama. Out of the 24 eligible voters—comprising 16 elected assembly members and 8 government appointees—a significant majority endorsed his appointment.
Hon. Charles Darko Yeboah previously contested as the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 and 2024 general elections for the Abuakwa North Constituency. His appointment marks a pivotal step in the NDC’s efforts to strengthen its leadership in the region.
The confirmation ceremony was held in accordance with local government procedures and was attended by key stakeholders, including party officials, traditional leaders, and members of the local community.
