The Omanhene of Yeji Pimampim Yaw Kabrese V on Wednesday sacked District Chief Executive for Pru East Joshua Kwaku Abonkrah from his palace.
The DCE was accompanying the Regional Minister of Bono East Region; Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan was paying a courtesy call on Nananom.
The action of the Yeji Omanhene incited the youth in the community who attempted to forcefully enter the palace to drag the DCE out of the palace but for the intervention of armed security at the palace.
In a closed-door meeting with the Regional Minister, the Chief leveled some allegations of disrespect against the DCE.
The Minister and his entourage apologized on behalf of the DCE which calmed down tension.
There is a chieftaincy dispute in Yeji Traditional area in which four (4) chiefs are jolting for the Paramount stool.
The Regional Minister continued his courtesy call to Gyeasehene and acting president of Konkomba Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Duah (I)
The Regional Minister and his entourage visited the Cherepo Traditional Council where Nana Twumasi Ankrah, popularly known as “Osisiriekwabrafo”.
The latter Chiefs defended the DCE and accused the Yeji Omanhene of hating the DCE over selfish interest.
