President John Dramani Mahama met with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Li Qiang, in Beijing on Monday.
It was an opportunity for Ghana’s President to acknowledge China’s continued investment, grants and support to Ghana’s economic and infrastructure development.
The two discussed exploring a new blue print to deepen strategic partnership between Ghana and China.
President John Dramani Mahama also welcomed China’s interest in supporting the 24-hour economy initiative especially through an agriculture co-operation targeting agro processing and value addition.
They also discussed concerns with illegal activities in the small scale mining sector as China expressed commitment to work with Ghana to implement preventive policies and regulatory frameworks to fight the menace.
“It was a fruitful bilateral meeting and I am looking forward to enhanced diplomatic, trade, investment and cooperation between our countries” according President Mahama.
