Minority Leader in Parliament and MP for the Effutu Constituency Hon Alexander Kwamina Afenyo Markin has attributed the recent Cholera outbreak in Winneba to the opposition NDC in the constituency after taken up upon themselves to lock up public toilets for 3 days at the expense of “my government has come”.
According to him, the inaction of party supporters have caused the menace in the constituency, hence infecting residents and contributing to surge in cases daily.
Speaking to Bryt Fm News correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah during stakeholders meeting on Wednesday, the Effutu lawmaker revealed, the lock-up of public toilets opened a way for residents to defecate anywhere within the shores of Winneba enclave resulting in the cholera outbreak.
He has, however, disclosed that all blames must be given to the NDC in Effutu for the harm they have caused since the cholera is currently affecting both NPP and NDC sympathizers.
He again used the opportunity to urge all and sundry not to politicize the cholera menace but rather join hands together to fight it by paying attention to all preventive measures given out by health professionals.

Hon Alexander Kwamina Afenyo Markin stressed that change of government must not be used to suppress people since there are laws governing the country and that all Ghanaians must seek redress at the appropriate quarters to ensure peace and tranquility in our respective communities.
The MP since the outbreak of the disease has supported the health directorate with a pick up vehicle and a sum of money to help them patrol within the municipality to ensure they contain the outbreak and prevent it from spreading.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Health Director Ms Paullete Brown also indicated that her outfit have embarked on house to house exercise to disinfect areas as a way o helping to curb the situation.
She called on the people to adhere to sanitation laws by keeping their environment clean in order to control the spread of the infection.
Participants included traditional and religious leaders, Assembly members, health workers, students and residents, who were all active in the discussions to find solution to the problem.
