Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited has demonstrated its commitment to public health by donating assorted pharmaceutical products worth GHC 250,000.00 to the Ghana Health Service at a short ceremony at the GHS Headquarters in Accra.
The donation comes in response to the recent cholera and CSM outbreaks in various parts of the country.
Dr. Christopher Mensah, Managing Director of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, presented the items on behalf of the Group CEO, Elder Dr. Nana Amo Tobin I.
In a brief remark, he highlighted that this voluntary gesture stems from responsible corporate citizenship and a commitment to breaking the cycle of recurring infections.
He reaffirmed the Tobinco Group’s dedication to supporting disease control efforts by providing quality and affordable medicines while encouraging other corporate institutions to contribute to the government’s response.
Receiving the consignment, which includes hand sanitizers, antibiotics, and painkillers, the Ag. Director-General of the GHS, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, expressed gratitude to the Tobinco Group and assured them of the immediate distribution of the supplies to facilities in urgent need.
He further urged other corporate institutions to emulate the gesture and seized the opportunity to reiterate effective handwashing and hygiene practices as ways to curb the spread of cholera.
