Miss Priscilla Mawulorm Aziaku, co-ordinator of Pre-School in the West Akyem Municipal Education office of the Eastern Region has called on young men and women who are entering University to choose early childhood education as their course.
She said being a Teacher for early childhood prepares you for Parenthood and one can be the best parent based on her or her profession as an Early childhood education Teacher and said it is an important time in children’s lives because it is when they first learn how to interact with others, including peers, teachers, and parents, and also begin to develop interests that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Speaking on the theme “laying a solid foundation for a brighter future” at the 8th graduation ceremony in Golden child complex School in Asamankese, Miss Priscilla Mawulorm Aziaku said training of a child should be a shared responsibility and stressed the need for all those who are key trainees of children should play their role.
According to her, laying a solid foundation for children’s brighter future normally depends on parents and Teachers and called on these key trainees to be role models and inculcate good moral values into the kids.
She urged parents and guidance to be mindful of words they use in the House as well as their dressing because most children learn from the house before adding school character and knowledge.
Madam Diana Oforiwaa Ababio Awoonor who was a special guest of honor in the 8th graduation and doubles as a Teacher in Asamankese Freeman Methodist Primary “A” called on Government and School proprietors to resource and motivate teachers to play their roles in early childhood education.
She called on teachers in private schools to take advantage of distance learning and short courses introduced by some Tertiary Institutions in the country to upgrade themselves, adding, although some private school Teachers and not trained but they are performing well and making private schools attractive.
