Almost two weeks into this year’s Christmas festivities, traders in K9foridua, the Eastern Regional capital are yet to experience bumper sales as expected annually.
Also, most families have indicated that they are yet to buy dresses and other materials for themselves a few days into Christmas.
Bryt FM reporter, Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon, in a random interview with some traders revealed that most of them are yet to even understand Christmas is just at the corner people are not patronizing their wares.
Some traders who deal in fabrics, shoes, and boutiques narrated market has been slow even though their services are normally resorted to earlier before the celebrations as compared to food and beverages.
“Maybe, we will see a rise in sales a few days to the festivities. As for now, people just come around to ask for prices of goods without buying anything” some fabric and boutique attendants complained.
Meanwhile, some persons have seen trying to buy some goods also complained about the rise in the prices of goods and products which make them buy what they need.
“I came here to see if I can buy dresses for my three children but considering the prices, I have to go back without buying anything. I can’t buy for some and leave the rest”.
“This government has made living too difficult for us. We can’t even buy anything for our children and friends. Prices of goods have also gone high and the traders say it is because of hikes in petroleum prices. Nana Addo must do something about this” some agitated section of the public shared their views.
