The Church of Pentecost has denied leading the national chairman of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to President Akufo Addo to appeal for clemency over leaked audio on alleged plans to kidnap people in Ghana.
The NDC chairman is standing trial with Kweku Boahen, a deputy communications officer of the party at the Commercial Division of the Accra High Court over the leaked tape case in 2019.
The two have been charged with the conspiracy to commit harm to certain persons.
While the NDC chairman is separately facing a charge of assault for allegedly inciting party communicators against the EC chairperson and the chairman of the Peace Council.
The two have however pleaded not guilty.
A video recently uploaded on the YouTube channel of Omanghnews alleged that it has impeccable evidence that, the leadership of the Church of Pentecost which Mr Ofosu Ampofo is an Elder, are pleading to President Akufo Addo on behalf of Mr Ofosu Ampofo to stop the prosecution of the case.
The commentator on the video yet to be identified condemned the leadership of the Church and described them as demons retrogressing Ghana’s progress.
The leadership of The Church of Pentecost has however vehemently denied pleading on behalf of Ofosu Ampofo.
The General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Kumi Larbi Jnr. says the public must treat the video with the contempt it deserves.
