The Bolegatanga Area of The Church of Pentecost is embarking on sensitization evangelism over attacks on old women accused of being witches.
The Evangelism Team of the Church is using its Cinema vans to show images and videos of attacks meted out to old women suspected to be witches.
This according to the Church is condemnable and must not fester.
The team used the scriptures to educate the public that, God has given those who accept Jesus Christ’s power over witches and demons therefore no need to physically attack a suspected witch adding that all they needed to do is to give their lives to Christ.
“The educational team on atrocities meted out to alleged witches in the north hit Builsa South district Tuesday. At Fumbisi market square, they showed a video of some alleged witches being maltreated to their utter dismay. An altar call thereafter won 20 souls to Christ” Apostle Nkrumah Agyemang -Bolegatanga Area Head of The Church of Pentecost said Thursday.
The Northern Part of Ghana is notorious for dehumanizing treatment of old women believe to be witches. The lucky ones are banished to witch camps while others lynched.
The latest incident which shook the entire nation is the lynching of a 90-year-old Woman Akua Denteh, who was lynched on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Kafaba near Salaga in East Gonna Municipality of the Savannah Region Police have since arrested the main Suspects.
