Member of Parliament (MP) for Akatsi North Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe has advised the government to close down schools to curb the spreading of Covid-19 in the various schools in the country.
According to him, they have advised Ghana Education Service (GES) and His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa to do mass testing for all the students before allowing them to enter into the various schools in the country but they refused to heed to their advice.
He added that the government needs to be serious about the six students who were tested for the novel coronavirus disease also deem it very important for the government to close down schools in the country to curb the spreading of the virus.
He also revealed that one of the students also tested positive for Coronavirus in the Asante region.
Speaking to Dadi FM’s “Efa Wo Ho” morning show host, Abena Opokua Ahwenee, Hon Peter Nortsu Kotoe indicated it that is too late for the government to test all the students but the government can put things in order so it doesn’t spread.
According to him, Ghana’s COVID-19 case count has risen to 21,968 and the government should not put the student’s lives at risk.
He also predicted that the students can go to their various homes and sit for their exams later because life is more important than academic certificates.
Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe urged the government to close down schools to protect the students from the virus.
