The National Co-payment Committee of the Authority held a one-day workshop exercise for all District and Regional co-payment committee members at the Head Office in Accra.
The members of the committee were taken through the newly adopted co-payment committee guidelines to tackle illegal payments charged at health provider centers.
The mandate of the committee is to check the abuses in the system by health providers and ensure that members are not surcharged.
Members of the committee are also expected to regularly update themselves with the updated NHIS Benefit Package, Medicines List, Tariff List, and Credentialing List.
