The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has confirmed that an amount of GH¢485 million has been paid by the government as Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) to public sector workers.
This was contained in a statement issued by Kwesi Kwaning-Bosompem, the Controller and Accountant-General on 29th August 2022.
The government agreed to pay the COLA after agreed negotiations with teachers’ unions who were on strike over the high cost of living.
