Ghanaian youth have been urged to enter into fish farming as it is a lucrative business creating employment to many.
Nkosuohene of Suhum Kwahyia in the Suhum municipality of the Eastern region, Nana Boakye Yiadom II was optimistic that fish farming can help deal with the increasing rate of unemployment in the country should the youth consider it as an option in this current economic hitches.
Speaking to Bryt fm’s Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma during a bumper harvest at his farm indicated he has never regret venturing into fish farming as it has added up to his financial status.
He has, however, called on the youth to take advantage of available opportunities and make a living out of fish farming rather than always hoping to get employed by others.
“My brother, I must tell you that I am a proud farmer and I will use your medium to urge fellow Ghanaians especially the youth to follow suit and I p[promise they will never regret making such decision. I have benefit a lot from fish farming over this short period in terms of profit and as a source of food for the family” Nana Boakye Yiadom II told the reporter.
The traditional leader and businessman therefore called on the government as well as other cooperate bodies as well as NGOs to put down programs that would enable acquire resources to start up businesses that may need not much money.
He also encouraged the public to consume more fish as they are rich in minerals and vitamins the body needs most instead of relying on frozen foods all the time.
