As part of efforts to enhance public awareness and participation under the ongoing Girls-In-ICT Programme in the Volta Region, the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI), in collaboration with the Information Services Department (ISD), embarked on a community sensitisation drive across selected areas in the Ho Municipality.
The sensitisation campaign aims to educate residents on the objectives, benefits, and opportunities available under the Girls-In-ICT initiative, which is designed to empower young girls with digital skills and stimulate their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as well as ICT related careers.
Communities engaged during the outreach included Ola Top, Bankoe, Hliha, Ahoe, Ahoe Stadium, Ho Technical University, Aeve, and Dome. During the engagements, community members were encouraged to support the participation of girls in the programme and were informed about the ongoing training sessions and future opportunities linked to the initiative.
The Ministry’s public outreach complements its broader goal of bridging the gender digital divide and promoting inclusive digital development across all regions of Ghana.
