Confusion broke out at Asuogyaman district office of the Electoral Commission Saturday September 23,2023 among Parliamentary aspirants hopeful of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) over sharing of Ghc10 by Pius Enam Hadzide.
Pius was confronted by supporters of other aspirants contesting the parliamentary primaries of the NPP in Asuogyaman for sharing Ghc10 to new voter’s registration applicants and asking them to vote for him in 2024.
Supporters of the other aspirants were livid that election has not been held therefore questioned why Pius Enam Hadzide will portray himself as Parliamentary candidate.
They said this feeds to rumour that he is indeed lobbying at the headquarters of the party to go unopposed.
The confrontation attracted many eyebrows at the registration center.
The agitation necessitated a close door meeting for hours by the party to resolve the matter.
Pius Enam Hadzide, Nana Abrokwa Asare and Paul Ansah are contesting th parliamentary primaries of the NPP.
Asuogyaman Constituency has since 2016 been occupied by Thomas Ampem Nyarko, of the opposition NDC who is seeking third term in mandate.
All efforts made by the NPP to unseat him in 2020 by Paul Ansah,then candidate proved futile.
