One of the candidates who contested Abuakwa North Parliamentary Primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kofi Obeng Mensah has thanked delegates and supporters of the party for their overwhelming support before, during, and after last Saturday’s Primary.
“It’s been a long journey full of God’s power, hope, fear, surprises, accidents, hard work, etc. At the end of the day the Lord has spoken and I say thank you to my: TEAM members, they have been fantastic. My teaming followers and supporters, my family, Friends and loved ones and Abuakwa North Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP)”
The incumbent Member of Parliament Gifty Twum-Ampofo defeated all three candidates who attempted to unseat her. She polled 150 votes while her closest contender Lawyer Kay Amoah Jnr. had 116 votes, followed by Kofi Obeng Mensah who polled 112 votes while Nana Serwaa Acheampong had 35 votes.
Speaking after the declaration of the results Kofi Obeng Mensah said “I congratulate Mrs. Gifty Twum-Ampofo (Candidate Elect) and all other aspirants for the great show of maturity. I will be back STRONGER. May the God of your father help you; may the Almighty bless you with the blessings of the heavens above, and blessings of the watery depths below, and blessings of the breasts and womb.” Genesis 49:25 Amen”.
