The member of parliament for Nkawkaw constituency, Hon. Joseph Frimpong has revealed that work will soon commence on the Nkawkaw sports stadium after former Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah on Friday 18th September 2020 cut sod for the reconstruction of the park into an ultra-modern sports complex.
The stadium hasn’t been visited after its sod-cutting last year September by formal Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah.
Hon. Joseph Frimpong, speaking on Nkawkaw based Agoo FM indicated that the contractor will come to the site by 1st week of June to commence serious construction.
The project, which is expected to be completed in 24 months, consists of a 10,000 seater capacity for spectators, a gymnasium, an indoor pitch, a resource centre, Lawn Tennis court, and external facilities.
The project is estimated at a cost of Gh 27 million cedis and is being sponsored by the Middle Belt Development Authority as part of the one million per constituency project.
The project will be in two phases, with the first phase costing Gh¢14m and the second phase is costing Gh¢13.
