A number of important security appointments have been made by President John Dramani Mahama with the goal of bolstering national security and guaranteeing public safety.
Prosper Douglas Bani, the President’s National Security Advisor, is in the lead of the appointments. As a former Interior Minister and Chief of Staff, Mr. Bani brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in security and governance to the position.
With the responsibility of guaranteeing a unified and strategic approach to the nation’s security endeavors, DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak was designated National Security Coordinator.
The President appointed COP Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd.) as Director of Operations at the Presidency, where he will supervise operational effectiveness in security-related matters, in a statement signed by Felix Ofosu Kwakye, acting spokesperson to the President. COP Boakye is well known for his operational expertise and decades of service.
Charles Kipo has also been named Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), a crucial position that focuses on obtaining and analyzing intelligence in order to anticipate security threats.
The administration’s commitment to upholding national security and encouraging citizen trust is demonstrated by these appointments.
