Coronavirus cases in Eastern Region have risen from 117 as captured on the national tally to 134, according to the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister Samuel Nuertey Ayertey.
“The Eastern Region has now recorded 134 COVID-19 cases with 95 recoveries representing 70%”
The Deputy Minister revealed this Tuesday, June 2, 2020, after a short ceremony to reopen AFCONS Construction Limited, the firm executing the Railway project from Tema to Mpakadan.
The Company is expected to resume work on the project has been shut down in March after some 82 Workers tested positive for Coronavirus.
“All the workers who contracted the coronavirus have fully recovered. The ceremony was also to congratulate and encourage them as they are about to continue with the construction work” the Deputy Minister said.
The Deputy Regional Minister also the Parliamentary candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party in Lower Manya Krobo said “right after the reopening ceremony, we’ve commissioned COVID-19 treatment center at the Atua Government Hospital. The center will serve as an isolation place for COVID-19 cases in the Krobo enclave and its environs”
