Fear has engulfed sex workers in the Eastern Capital, Koforidua, as customers are very touchy when they are being approached.
According to them, since Coronavirus is a deadly communicable disease, and can be easily transferred by physical contact, and for that matter, there is a need for them as sex workers to put appropriate safety measures in place so they don’t get affected by the disease.
Already going by the directives given by health practitioners, they believe a change in sex position will also help as they won’t be all touchy with a customer.
“ This is a life and death situation, so knowing the kind of work we do, we also need to protect our selves from the pandemic and going the ‘doggy’ way is the best sex position for us now. With this, there won’t be too much physical contact with a customer as compared to the other sex positions.” One said.
“We know the dangers involved as sex workers especially in times like this, for that matter, we use hand sanitizers and keep the tissue in our bags. We have nose-masks that we sometimes use.” another revealed.
In furtherance, they went on and disclosed that business ( Prostitution) isn’t really affluent these days and with the inclusion of Coronavirus will worsen the state of their business.
They, therefore, pleaded with their customers to put on gloves before being touchy.
Ghana has recorded its 9th Coronavirus case in the past few weeks.
