Pastor Musa Yahaya, the Resident Minister of PIWC-Koforidua in the Eastern Region has emphasized significance of the Bible as the ultimate guide for profitable living.
Addressing the congregation of Rev. Simons AME Zion Church as part of the Bible Week Celebration organized by the Bible Society of Ghana on the topic, “The Bible: A Guide for Peace, Unity, and Development,” Pastor Musa Yahaya pointed out the Bible’s role as more than just a mere book but as God’s word, serving as a manual for humanity to navigate life’s challenges on earth successfully.
According to Pastor Musa Yahaya, the Bible holds solutions to various societal issues such as corruption, immorality, environmental degradation, and partisan polarization.
He stressed that obedience to the teachings of the Bible is crucial in restoring orderliness in the world, which has been disrupted by human disobedience.
Moreover, Pastor Musa Yahaya pointed out the adverse consequences of humanity’s disobedience, particularly in the context of environmental pollution.
He stated that the repercussions of such actions ultimately affect individuals, highlighting the importance of adhering to biblical principles for a harmonious existence.
Concluding his sermon, Pastor Musa Yahaya urged individuals to return to the Bible as a blueprint for leading profitable lives, emphasizing its transformative power in fostering peace, unity, and development in society.
Elder Stephen Awaga, the Eastern Regional Manager of the Bible Society of Ghana (BSG), highlighted the pivotal role of unity within the body of Christ in fostering national unity.
Emphasizing the significance of unity, Elder Stephen Awaga revealed the BSG’s commitment to mobilizing resources to ensure broader access to the Bible, especially in various local languages.
He disclosed plans for translating the Bible into Okere and Larteh languages, as well as sign language, to cater to diverse linguistic needs.
Rev. Solomon Kobina Odoom, the Pastor of Rev. Simons AME Zion Church in Koforidua Srodae, commended the BSG for its efforts in promoting collaboration between Pentecostal and orthodox Churches, fostering cohesion within the Christian community.
Reflecting on the nature of the Bible, Pastor Solomon Kobina Odoom said the Bible is not a magical book, underscoring its transformative power inherent in the Word of God, urging Christians to engage with the Scriptures regularly and adhere to its teachings.
