President of the Rotational Nurses and Midwives Association of Ghana, Mr Jerry Martins Azamati, has urged President Nana Akufo-Addo to take prompt action in the ministry of health.
Mr Azamati urged the government to end the corruption that has plagued the ministry of health’s posting of nurses and midwives.
He claimed that the ministry is mired in corruption when it comes to the placement of nurses and midwives.
Mr Azamati told Bryt Fm news that posts for nurses and midwives cost between GHS15,000 and GHS20,000.
In another interview in Accra, he said that “Those of us who cannot pay the sum are waiting at our various homes.”
Nurses doing their national service, according to Mr Azamati, are encountering problems with their monthly allowance.
All the promises made by the administration to nurses and midwives during the 2020 general election have not been kept, according to Mr Azamati.
