Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa—a former traditional priestess turned evangelist—has been convicted by the Circuit Court in Accra on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.
The conviction follows a controversial televised broadcast in 2022, during which Nana Agradaa claimed she had the supernatural ability to double money for members of the public. Her claims prompted several individuals to surrender large sums of money, believing they would receive a financial windfall in return.
The court has yet to announce her sentence, as final directives and sentencing details are pending. In accordance with legal procedure, the accused has been taken to a hospital for a pregnancy test—a step required before sentencing can proceed.
Further updates will follow as the court concludes proceedings.
