James Kofi Annan, NDC parliamentary candidate for Effutu, was arraigned before the Winneba Magistrate Court on 23rd March 2020 and charged with stealing.
At the hearing of the case today, Thursday, June 11, 2020, the presiding judge, His Worship Oheneba Kuffour, varied the bail terms and ordered the accused, James Kofi Annan, to refund to the court the GHC100,000 which is the subject matter of the criminal trial.
James Kofi Annan is to refund this amount which he unlawfully received into his GCB Bank account, Winneba branch, and squandered the same within three days.
According to the court, it arrived at this decision upon scrutinizing the bank statement of the accused.
James Kofi Annan is to refund this amount before the next hearing date which is 29th June 2020.
Failure to do so would have dire consequences for him, according to the court.
