Ghana`s COVID-19 death has increased from 812 to 817 and active cases have also jumped from 2,850 to 3,466 as of 17th July 2021.
Fifteen Of the affected persons are in critical and 26 are in severe condition, according to the Ghana Health Service report.
At the Kotoka International Airport, 370,942 tests have been conducted and 2,031 have been confirmed positive, while the country test since March 2020 is 1,374,779.
To manage the spread, Ghana Health Service has outlined strategies to address it by enhancing risk communication at the community level, utilization of COVID-19 champions to rally support for adherence to protocols, and intensifying contact tracing.
Other measures are; stakeholders such as religious bodies, School authorities, organized groups, engaging of facility heads to revamp holding areas within facilities, enhancing triaging in health facilities, and other key stakeholders in COVID-19 fight.
Ten COVID-19 death cases were recorded in Kumasi between July 1 and 13, this year, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), has disclosed.
