Dr. Dorcas Asamoah Nyamekye, Nurse Manager of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), has issued a stern warning to Ghanaians to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols as cases continue to rise.
According to her, COVID-19 is not going anywhere anytime soon and has come to stay with us like malaria.
In an interview with journalists, Dr. Nyamekye emphasized the need for Ghanaians to take the necessary precautions to curb the spread of the virus.
She advised the public to wear nose masks, sanitize their hands regularly, avoid handshakes, and practice social distancing.
Dr. Nyamekye noted that COVID-19 cases tend to peak during cold weather, and with the Ghana Meteorological Agency predicting cold mornings and nights until the end of August, she urged Ghanaians to be extra cautious.
“If we don’t adhere to the protocols, we will end up losing more lives,” she warned.
The Nurse Manager’s call to action comes at a time when COVID-19 cases are on the rise, and it’s essential for individuals to take responsibility for their health and safety. By following the safety protocols, Ghanaians can protect themselves and others from the virus.
