Chief of Aperede-Akuapem Nana Saforo Okoampah has in line with government directives on free Water access to Ghanaians, ordered that the community-owned mechanized boreholes in the Aperede -Akuapem be opened to the residents to use for free.
He said the traditional council will also discuss with private borehole operators on ways to make their commercial boreholes also free to the public to reduce pressure on the community-owned ones and make water readily available to the people within this difficult times.
The Chief reminded his subjects that, ban on social and traditional events is still in force until the government says otherwise.
“We appreciate the support received from the District Assembly and other political parties during these times of distress. We should all be each other’s keeper and try not to engage in acts that put us or others at risk of contracting this disease” The Chief of Aperede-Akuapem said this when natives of the community living abroad presented quantities of hand sanitizers, toiletries, hand washing kits among others to the traditional Council to be positioned at vantage areas to encourage frequent hand washing and hand hygiene.
Coronavirus cases in the Eastern Region have increased to 32. Most of the cases recorded are among some construction workers at Kpong in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
This makes the region third highest after Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions which have recorded 452 and 49 cases respectively. The national tally stands at 566 with 8 deaths.
