The Chief Executive Officer of Kwayisi Christian Herbal Clinic popularly known as Ayisaa clinic, Dr. Emmanuel Ampem Darko, near Suhum in the Eastern Region has disclosed that the Ghana Federation Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (GHAFTRAM) has selected two of their products for testing as they seek to get a cure for the deadly coronavirus disease.
According to the CEO, through the Ministry of Health, the traditional centers were consulted to help in the fight of COVID -19 by producing curable drugs that will free people from the disease.
“The federation selected 25 herbal medicines across the country. Two of my products were picked thereby making my products get two-slot hence the only company to get many slots. This is because my products are unique and they stand out in curing diseases.” He revealed.
He added that most people do not have trust when it comes to herbal medicine, forgetting that, most of these herbal medicines have been approved by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) as immune boosters which make it relatively difficult for one to contract the coronavirus disease.
In furtherance, Dr. Ampem Darko went on and stressed that his products haven’t been approved as the cure for the pandemic yet so people shouldn’t come to his outfit to seek for the medicines to cure coronavirus.
“We as an entity can produce medicines which will fight coronavirus if given the chance. We haven’t cured such a disease before but I strongly believe we can produce drugs that will aid in the cure of the deadly disease. I want to plead that; the health ministry should examine our drugs and choose the right one which can cure the disease. If any of the 25 drugs are selected as the cure for the disease, we will come together with GHAFTRAM and produce more for Ghanaians.” He averred.
Dr. Ampem Darko used the medium to advise Ghanaians to take directives given by health practitioners very serious and stressed that the use of hand sanitizers must be encouraged.
