Ghanaian citizens who aid foreign nationals into the country illegality amidst the COVID-19 outbreak will be dealt with by the law, President Akufo-Addo has warned.
In a live televised broadcast on Sunday, 26th April 2020, the President was worried some Ghanaians are flouting government’s directive of border closures and are therefore leading some foreigners into the country through unapproved routes.
However, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that persons who enter the country illegally together with their accomplices who facilitate their unlawful entry will be strictly dealt with.
“Persons who enter the country illegally together with their accomplices who facilitate their unlawful entry will be strictly dealt with” he stressed.
He also urged Ghanaians to be each other’s keeper in times of the pandemic and ensure all laid down protocols are followed to help curb the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, the country’s borders remain closed according to the President.
