Former Youth and Sports Minister, Mallam Issah has taken a swipe at the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku accusing him of failing to live up to the bid.
Mr Okraku pledged to revive football in the country during his campaign to become a president of the FA.
After ten months in office, his efforts has not pleased many who expected much from him on the back of his compelling campaign promises which swept the feet of most of the delegates.
Adding his voice to the issue, the former sports minister said, “Covid-19 has exposed Kurt and His GFA big time. He has failed to deliver so far and is using Covid-19 as an excuse. The GFA has been inactive so far,” he stressed.
“I supported him because of his promise to re-brand Ghana football but he has been inactive so far”
Mr Issah also took a swipe at the clubs for their unpreparedness which he believes is the reason the government has not given the green light for domestic football to return.
“The Local Clubs must be 50-70% ready in terms of preparation to get our football back and then the government can complement them with the rest but so far they are doing nothing.”
