The Ranking member for Select committee on Health who doubles as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has warned the government to desist from playing politics with the coronavirus and heed to expert’s advice in order to ease Ghanaians live from the risk of COVID-19.
According to him, the increase of coronavirus cases in the country is due to the negligence of the government as the government doesn’t heed to advice from health experts.
In his view, the consistent increase in the COVID-19 infections in the country is marked to the minority’s position that the NPP government is not handling the management of this pandemic properly.
“The government should stop playing politics with the lives of Ghanaians. Rather needs to provide more resources and logistics into managing the COVID-19 pandemic”.
“Is about time the NPP government needs to stand firm and ease Ghanaians from this battle,’’ he added.
Expressing his views to the media in parliament, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh averred that due to the government’s poor handling of coronavirus, many Ghanaians have lost trust and faith in his government.
Ghana has recorded 498 new cases of COVID-19 taking the country’s total case count to 10,856.
The death toll still remains at 48 recoveries shooting up to 3,921, the Ghana Health Service announced in its latest update.
