Presidential advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare has charged Ghanaians to partake in the ongoing vaccination across the country as December has been termed as the ‘month of vaccination’.
According to him, the emergence of the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron poses a great danger to all persons hence the need to get vaccinated to prevent a surge in cases.
Speaking at a press conference by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday afternoon, Dr. Nsiah Asare indicated that, Ghana would have itself to be blamed if necessary precautions are not followed by January-March, 2022.
He has, however, advised the public to ignore several negative perceptions that have characterized the vaccination which is deterring them from getting vaccinated as there is no basis for such ill comments.
On preparations ahead of the NPP’s national delegates conference in Kumasi, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare indicated that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure all attendants adhere to the laid down protocols to ensure the virus does not spread.
“We have put in place all the measures to ensure the spread of the virus is checked. All delegates are to get their COVID-19 jab before the day, those who could not get vaccinated will be allowed to do so at the venue as well” the presidential Health advisor stressed.
