The Municipal Executive Chief (MCE) of the New Juaben North, Hon. Samuel Adongo, has cautioned government officials occupying bungalows over poor maintenance in the municipality.
The New Juaben North MCE charged households, government workers, store operators, and food vendors to all clear their frontage and drains in front of their environment.
Hon. Samuel Adongo called on government workers living bungalows to keep their environment screen by clearing their gutters, maintaining their residence with good standard.
He disclosed that the assembly, through the support of the Municipal Environmental Directorate, will serve letters to government workers, shop operators, and vendors living in unhygienic environments in the municipality.
He warned workers operating without a permit to seek permission from the assembly. Hon. Samuel Adongo declared that the assembly will embark on an operation to clear unauthorized structures and resources to keep the municipality clean.
According to him, the government has revived the National Sanitation Day with full legal backing to ensure Metropolitan and Municipal District Assemblies (MMDAs) maintain basic hygiene and cleanliness in their jurisdictions.
He said that the initiative was budgetarily supported for all local assemblies. Hon. Samuel Adongo indicated that the government has provided resources needed to clean up exercise, enforce sanitation by-laws, and engage local communities in the country.
