National President for Automobile Dealers Association, Mr Kweku Boateng has said the Automotive Manufacturing Development Program will not collapse their business by any means.
According to him, the government has put some necessary measures in place to ban salvaged cars in order to reduce road accident in the country.
He said the government is not ready to ban second-hand cars but overage cars.
Speaking to Abena Pokua Awhenie on Dadi FM, Mr Kweku Boateng stated that the government has given them the mandate to import commercial vehicle that is over age into the country.
He added that the government did inform all stakeholders about the Automotive Manufacturing Development Program on September 2019 and they are aware of the Customs Amendment 2020 bill.
He affirmed that they are going to ensure good customer service to help their business to run fast hence, they will not force buyers to purchase their vehicles.
“We don’t buy an accident-free car because it is very expensive,’’ he reveals.
Mr Kweku Boateng said they are very elated about the Automotive Manufacturing Development Program because it is going to help them to stop the importation of vehicles in the country.
