The Mim Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing high-quality water to the residents of Mim and its surrounding areas.
The agency’s engineer, Mr. Agyei Mfum Philip, emphasized this during an interview on the “Rejoice Amansan Ntie” morning show.
Mr. Philip stated that the water supplied by the agency is sourced from underground wells, which are naturally more secure and safe for human consumption compared to surface water from streams.
He assured the public that the water undergoes rigorous treatment processes at their plant to ensure it is free from harmful substances.
The engineer also urged residents to seek accurate information about the water supply directly from the CWSA rather than relying on external sources, which may spread misinformation.
Mr. Amfra James Emmanuel, the Community Relations Officer, pleaded with residents to handle the water pipes with care and to report any instances of vandalism or damage to the authorities.
He warned that individuals responsible for damaging the pipes would be held accountable and required to pay for repairs.
Sherrif Issaka, the Mim Water System Manager, emphasized the critical need to safeguard the water supply system, noting the significant challenge posed by any damage to the infrastructure.
With only 13 pipes in operation across Mim, Mr. Issaka pointed out that repairs can be both costly and time-consuming due to the expensive machinery involved.
“Damage to any part of our system is a significant loss to the agency and the community. Given that only Mim and Brosankro have water systems in the entire Ahafo Region, it is crucial that we manage and preserve this resource effectively,” Mr. Issaka urged.
