In solidarity and support, Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum was accompanied by the Deputy Minister, Agency Heads, and Directors of the Ministry to pay a visit to the flood-ravaged town of Battor in the North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region following the recent Akosombo Dam spillage.
The town has been battling with the devastating effects of the flooding.

This firsthand assessment allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by educators in the community and further reaffirmed my commitment to their recovery.
To address the pressing needs of those hardest hit by the disaster, the minister donated 450 bags of rice and bags and boxes of mineral water to provide sustenance to teachers and citizens who have been profoundly affected by the disaster.
He also presented an assortment of stationery to school children as providing students with the tools they need to continue their studies, is a way to ensure education remains accessible.
“I assured the community that efforts are underway to bring children back to school, and I further pledged to work tirelessly to ensure that learning continues”.
“I am, therefore, making a fervent call to stakeholders, pleading with all to join in supporting the victims because collective efforts are imperative in aiding the community’s recovery and rebuilding process” Hon Osei Adutwum stated.
