Aliko Dangote, the Nigerian billionaire businessman, has announced plans to build vehicle assembly plants in two states in Nigeria.
The plants, which will be located in the states of Kogi and Lagos, will assemble a range of vehicles, including trucks, buses, and cars.
The plants will be built in partnership with foreign automakers, with Dangote stating that the aim is to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported vehicles and create jobs for Nigerians.
The plants are expected to have a capacity to assemble up to 50,000 vehicles per year.
