Earlier today, the sector Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah supervised the commencment of construction of the Nima-Paloma Storm Drain, which runs through Asylum Down to the Odaw Channel.
The 1km storm drain, which is under the Greater Accra Resilience and Integrated Development (GARID) Project is part of measures to strengthen the flood resilience of communities along the Odaw River basin.
It is expected to mitigate flooding in hotspots such as Ring Road, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Adabraka and Asylum Down areas.
