Ahead of December Presidential and Parliamentary election in Ghana, Flagbearers of the two main leading Political Parties, the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress are touring the capital of the country to sell their messages.
On Sunday, 25th October 2020, NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo began a four-day tour of the Greater Accra region with a prayer to God seeking the grace for another term in government.
The President on his first day joined the Resurrection Power New Generation Church at Tuba in the Ingleshie Amamfrom constituency for worship, prayers, and blessing.
Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, will also begin a five-day campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region on Tuesday, October 27.
The former President’s tour of the Region follows a similar visit to the Western Region which ended two days ago.
As expected, the flagbearer of the NDC will address the chiefs and people in several constituencies as well as interact with some interest groups.
Pollster Ben Ephson says whoever wins Greater Accra Region will carry the day on December 7.
Mr. Ephson said anyone who had won a majority in Parliament and the presidential elections will have to win the Greater Accra, Central, and Western regions.
He will, however, not predict which of the two leading political parties will win the Greater Accra Region.
According to the pollster, who is also the Managing Director of the Dispatch newspaper, the importance of Greater Accra is magnified by the fact that it has over 33 percent increase in registered voters between 2016 and 2020, representing some 3.5 million votes.
