Defeated NPP candidate for Asawasi constituency, Manaf Ibrahim, has penned a heartfelt message to his supporters, graciously congratulating Muntaka Mubarak on his victory.
In a statement on his official facebook page, Manaf Ibrahim writes..
Good morning everyone. The 2024 election has ended.
First, I express gratitude to Allah for the protection. My family who understood me and my friends for your unwavering commitment to my wellbeing. I thank you all. God richly bless.
Our objective was to win and fundamentally bring some changes to the way things are done which we believe could trigger a shift from the norm in our community life as a constituency. God ordains. God did not grant this victory and God is right as always.
I want to urge everyone who supported and voted for me to accept that this is the decree of Allah. No blame games. We did not win simply because God did not grant us victory. In joy and in adversity, my believe in God does not wither and so should yours be.
This was a mass campaign involving a lot of people. If in my low moments, in words, deed, and attitude, through an error of temper, taste, mannerisms or tone, I have caused anyone discomfort or pain, that is not my truest intention. Please forgive me.
I take this as another learning curve. I chose to serve through an elective office and I remain committed to that. Though the political journey has cost me so much pain in the last 10 years, I am of a firm belief that one day, my people would understand my philosophy. Until then, I will remain committed to ambition.
let me take this opportunity to congratulate my elder brother Hon. Muhammad Muntaka Mubarak on his election once again. May this victory bring joy and progress to our people. I also urge all of us to rally support for him to better our community for us. I pledge my support solicited and unsolicited for the sake of our progress in our community life. Once again, I thank all of you for your support and prayers thus far. please keep me in your prayers.
