Michael Okyere Baafi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board and also the aspiring member of parliament for New Juaben South has said that he has a strong believe in his delegates and very certain that, they won’t disappoint him when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) goes to the polls come April 25 2020.
Mr Baafi made this revelation after he was being vetted by the vetting committee of the party on Wednesday, March 4 2020.
“I have been with these people (delegates) for a long time and they know me, they know what am capable of doing when they elect me to represent the party in the constituency. Going into the 2020 general elections, the party needs someone who can pull more votes for the party, and I strongly believe that person is me”. He said.
“Knowing my delegates, I know they will listen to what the people in the constituency want and vote for me. I strongly believe they won’t disappoint me since they know what I can bring to the constituency when elected”. He stated.
Asked on whether he is frightened of his opponent who happens to be a sitting member of parliament for the constituency, (Dr Assibey Yeboah), the aspiring member disclosed that he isn’t scared at all because he has been with the party delegates for three (3) years and knows what they want, which he is ready to deliver when being elected.
“My chances are very bright, looking at the job I have done, politics is all about fieldwork. I have contributed my quota to the party’s development. With all these, give me the faith and believe that they (delegates) will reward me.”
