Together with the Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, the Central Regional Minister, Justina Marygold Assan led a delegation to the office of Shimizu Dia-Nippon Joint Ventures, contractors in charge of the Rehabilitation of the National Trunk Road (N8) between Assin Fosu and Assin Praso.
The visit by the team was to understand and resolve issues surrounding the disturbances which occurred on Thursday, 13th January 2022 as a result of a demonstration by employees who registered their displeasure due to unsatisfactory conditions of service.
The team had an extensive discussion with the Project Manager and other top officials on site and spelt out resolutions that will curtail any future occurrence of such outbursts.
The team also assured them of their safety on-site and movement in the community with maximum security protection and further entreated them to return to the site as soon as practical.
On their part, the Project Manager and his team gave assurance that they will consider all factors concerning the welfare and conditions of service of the workers.
